Wikipedia App for Android Released

In the same week as Wikipedia went black to raise awareness of SOPA and PIPA opposition, WikiMedia releases an Android App to the Market. The App is free for all, and can be installed on any device with a minimum of Android 2.2 Froyo installed. This is the official app for Android, which gives the user full access to Wikipedia's 20 million plus article database in over 280 languages.
The app will allow you to save your previous searches for later review, search based on location, and the ability to share your searches directly within the app. Since this is version 1.0 of the app, we're sure it'll get some more features and improvements down the road. It's a great start for an Android app of a tool many of us use on a regular basis for anything we need knowledge on. You can grab it from the market by clicking the icon below.
