The Grammy Award winner Shakira has become the first ever Columbian to be honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star. She got her name on the famous sidewalk, after she was presented with 2,454th star that is located in front of the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. She now gets officially immortalized with a Star of Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ‘Waka Waka’ singer was joined by her mother Nidia Ripoll, Eric Garcetti the City Councilman and hundreds of her screaming fans. On being honored, she said that, this is incredible and would like to thank everyone. The 34-year-old blonde entertainer during her speech added that, she would like to share the honor with her fans of the United States, who have listened, understood and supported her music all the time. She also dedicated her star to Hispanics in the States, whom she has described as a community that works and dreams every day, in making the country better.
The ‘Whenever, Wherever’ singer recalled that, she came to the Hollywood boulevard at her age of seven as a tourist. She also gushed that, her mother told her at that time that, she would have her name on this place one day and added that, if someone at that time have heard the conversation would have thought her as insane. After honored with the Hollywood Walk of Fame Star, Shakira joins the Latinos like Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan and Julio Iglesias. She got the honor a day before, she was awarded with 2011 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year at the 12th Annual Tribute Gala at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Let’s congratulate Shakira on being honored with Star of Hollywood Walk of Fame.
